In 1993 Mark Wright, one of the original members of the Wet Earth Exploration Group,wrote a small book entitled "The Exploration of Wet Earth Colliery". This was a privately produced ring binder book which was only available to some of the original members of the Wet Earth Exploration Group.As a publication it is the classic description of all the original discoveries at Wet Earth and answered the bulk of the questions that people are always asking. Only a few copies were ever produced.
Mark has now re-written this book.The second version of the book
(which is entitled "Diary of Exploration of Wet Earth Volume 1") is a magnificent
piece of work and contains basically all the contents of the original book,
but this time it includes dozens and dozens of photographs, many taken at
the time of the original explorations. This publication is of a substantial
size and although you can download the whole thing in one download session
this is really only suitable for those with broadband. For those with slower
modems the book has been split into 3 parts and you can download each part
separately. Volume 2 is currently being written and will be added to this
web page when available. The second volume will look at the downcast area
in detail, the fan drift excavation, the siphon upcast and then the various
sections of the main tunnel system after they have been "dug out" - or so
Mark tells me!.
The web copy of the books are in PDF format (ie it can be read on virtually all types of computer or operating systems) BUT in order to read it you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer.
